George Augusta

George Augusta is a native Bostonian. His first interest in painting developed as a young soldier in Italy during World War II. After a brief period of study in Florence he returned home to become a private student of the well-known Boston painter and teacher, Ernest L. Major. Mr. Augusta maintains his studio north of Boston in West Newbury, Massachusetts. Augusta specializes in commission portraits of men, women and children in oil or pastel in a traditional impressionist style. He also paints landscapes, figure studies and still lives.Since then, Mr. Augusta has pursued his career with special emphasis on portraiture, some of the portraits he is credited in painting are, Dr. Raymond D.
